Laurel Cottage provides the perfect destination for a family holiday or friends to get together. The cottage is attached to ‘The Laurels’, which is the owner’s home, a period property with buckets of charm and character set in a quiet location. Having originally been built circa 1875, it was purchased by the Holy Trinity church as a memorial to one of their ministers.
Downstairs the cottage has a bright open plan living and dining area, with an ornamental fireplace, a wonderful space where you can make yourself at home. From here you can walk through to the kitchen and whip up a culinary delight. The property has been tastefully decorated, furnished and equipped to a very good standard after major refurbishment in 2015. Outside, Laurel Cottage has a private and enclosed courtyard, furnished with a patio table and chairs. On a summer’s day, this little suntrap is the perfect area to sit and enjoy the warm weather with a glass of wine or a spot of lunch.
The town centre is a short downhill walk, with a range of shops, trendy bars and excellent restaurants, many set around Torquay’s picturesque pavilion and harbour with its yachts, pleasure craft and cruise boats. For a day at the beach, both Torre Abbey Sands and Meadfoot are nearby. Torquay is home to a variety of attractions including Living Coasts, the Babbacombe Model Village and Kent’s Cavern prehistoric caves. There is a regular ferry service from the harbour side in Torquay to Brixham, a delightful way to travel the bay in style and enjoy the quaint fishing port of Brixham and stunning views from Berry Head. There are many National Trust properties to discover, including Agatha Christie’s summer house at Greenway, well worth a visit. Beach ¾ mile. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
